So God in his, as my pastor would say, in his infinite wisdom, God has to bring about the process that produces listen, the progress that is sometimes painful. I’m going to say it again. God, in his infinite wisdom, that means eternal non-ending non challenged wisdom. God in his infinite wisdom sometimes has to bring about the process that produces the progress and sometimes it’s painful. I want to be a better person, but it’s painful. I want to love those who use me. It’s painful. I want to keep my mouth closed. When I feel something in my spirit telling me to clap back, it’s painful. I want to protect somebody’s character that would assassinate mine if they had the opportunity to. It’s
I once was an evil tax collector like Zac is, but now I’m free. Somebody had a Nebu Kza spirit, but you’re now free and I call you back to yourself. I call you out of every disposition and every spirit that is trying to take you out of your lane and out of your calling because I believe that God has arrested you on your road to Damascus so that he could give you insight and not just eyesight. Somebody put in the chat. I’m believing God for it because when we deny ourselves, we are cutting away our flesh and when we cut away our flesh, the blood runs. That’s why Romans five nine says, we are justified. Don’t y’all make me have no Holy Ghost Bible study that we are justified by the blood not justified by my religious title, not justified that I have reserved seating in the sanctuary, not justified because I hold a position in the pulpit not justified because I’m on the board or the committee.
I’m justified by the blood, which is why this is important. If we’re justified by the blood, then the first time we see Jesus bleed in the scripture is when he was circumcised. The first time we see Jesus bleed is not on Calvary. The first time we see him bleed is on the eighth day. No wonder eight is new beginnings. No wonder eight is new beginnings because that was the first time that his blood ran. So if I am saved by the blood of Jesus, it means that I was saved at the circumcision, not at Calvary and now the Abrahamic covenant has been extended to those of us who are not Jews. So now I don’t have to go through what they went through because Jesus is the once and for all sacrifice and everything that he did, he did it finally, even when he died on the cross, he said it was finished because everything that Jesus does, he does it completely.
Now, although, and let’s set the record straight, he set it straight at the cross. The practice hadn’t caught up. What do I mean by that? So now as the ambassador of the church, Paul speaks to put an end to ceremonious religion that the traditionalist who were trying to get Christ to turn back we’re implementing as a rule. In other words, if you don’t do this, then you must not be saved. If you don’t do that, then you must not be saved. If you’re not circumcised, you’re not saved. So being circumcised, then we find out it doesn’t make you a Christian.
Being able to speak in tongues doesn’t make you a Christian. I watch being baptized doesn’t make you a Christian any more than being in the garage makes you a car. I’m not a car because I’m in the garage. I’m in the garage and I’m still a person. Okay, one Corinthians seven and 19, look at it. Look at it. Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Now we talking about circumcision, but we’re metaphoric language. In other words, he’s saying, listen, if you do what the Jews did, it means nothing and if you don’t do it, it means nothing. Watch this. Keeping God’s commands is what counts. Paul is basically saying don’t remember the rituals. Remember the resurrection. Don’t memorize the ministries, memorize the master.
Don’t just be excited to be in a small group or a life group. You need to make sure you in the Lamb’s book of life, help me, holy Spirit and Paul says, and just put in a chat if I’m helping you, just put some signs, some flames or something in the chat if I’m helping you, Paul said There are three ways to identify a true Christian and it has nothing to do with missing foreskin. He says there’s three ways that we can identify as a Christian. Are you ready for number one, worshiping God in the spirit? Well, we right back. We ain’t leaving.
We ain’t leaving. We haven’t left. I know you said, man, he’d been talking about the Holy Spirit for three weeks. Come back, come here. How will we know we are Christians? Because we can worship God not in the sanctuary, not at the musical, not at the conference, not at the convention center. We can worship him in the spirit. You remember at the well when Jesus talked to the woman and told her you had five husbands and the guy you’re with right now, the guy you’re living with, he’s not your husband. This made the woman very, very uncomfortable. I can imagine she was so uncomfortable because listen to how she tries to divert his attention from her personal life to matters of religion. He says, you got five husbands and the one you’re with is not your husband and she starts talking about where Jews worship and where Samaritans worship and how Jews shouldn’t be talking to Samaritans. She refused to be distracted by what Jesus was saying and Jesus refused to be distracted by what she was saying. He said all of that might be true, but the hour is coming and now is the time where true worshipers will worship him in spirit and in truth. For here it is, the Father seeks such to worship him.
How does he seek us to worship him in spirit, not in flesh, not in church only, but in spirit. I brought this up last week. If we worship in the spirit, then the only place that we should be confronted by his invasive power, it is not just in the sanctuary. I don’t know about you. I can feel ’em in my soul. I have literally had tears leap out of my eyes in the grocery store. Oh my God, no, no, no, no. You don’t understand. I can get an unction of the Holy Spirit and feel his presence all over me in an empty room. I have been in the shower and sung myself into a fit because I’m doing it in the spirit. And when you do it in the spirit, you can do it in poverty. When you do it in the spirit, you can do it in between jobs.
When you do it in the spirit, you can do it in the divorce court. When you do it in the spirit, you can do it alone because when you worship in the spirit, then what is happening on the outside doesn’t matter. Greater is he that is in me and when he is in you and you are in him, you got to do this in the spirit. You got to live life in the spirit. You got to lead in the spirit. You got to be a marriage partner in the spirit. You’ve got to be a parent in the spirit. It’s amazing how many things we do in life. We always have to step out of the spirit to do it.
No, no, no, no, no. I ain’t got to step out of the spirit to confront my enemies. I don’t even have to give my enemies my flesh. I can stay in the spirit. I can still watch, fight and pray. You don’t have to step out of the spirit to defend yourself. It is in him that we live, move and have I been. My challenge to you is let nothing take you out of the spirit. Worship him in the spirit, pray in the spirit fast in the spirit, love in the spirit, forgive in the spirit and yes, fight in the spirit.
Help me Holy Ghost rejoice in the spirit. The Father seeks such to worship him. It means when he says that, he’s saying, listen, I want you to give me glory no matter what. That is such a profound statement. I want you to give me glory in whatever state you’re in. I want you to have no confidence in the flesh. That’s why I had you to cut away the flesh because I wanted you to know that the more you have, the less you needed. And the reason why I didn’t let it fall off at birth is is because I wanted you to feel the pain of having to have it cut away so that it could cause a flow of blood. And where there is no shedding of the blood, there can be no remission of sin. Romans seven 18 says, for I know, help me Holy Ghost, and I’m trying to tell you how to get in that spirit because if you don’t have the spirit, you’re going to have to say what Paul said in Romans seven and 18. He said, listen, lemme tell you why I do this thing in the spirit, because I know that in me that is in my flesh, dwells no good thing for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find, let me read it in the message Bible for if I know the law but still can’t keep it and if the power of sin within me keeps sabotaging my best intentions, listen. He says, I obviously need help.
I realize that I don’t have what it takes, I can will it, but I can’t do it. I decide to do good, but I don’t really do good. I decided not to do bad and then I did it anyway. He said, because my decisions such as they are don’t result in the actions I think I can take sometimes has some things I should say has gone wrong deep within me and gets in the way of my results. Another translation says something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me every single time. That is why we must operate in the spirit because that in me, that is in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing and no matter how good you think you are when you’re operating in the flesh, the Bible says you are a filthy rag man. I know y’all like, who are you talking to, bro? I’m talking to us. I’m trying to get you to operate in the spirit.
Could you imagine how forgiving we would be with our spouses if we operated in the spirit, but that flesh will make you keep record of Rome, that flesh. Oh man, it’ll make you record evil. The flesh will have you not forgiving things. You said you want to be forgiven for the flesh. The flesh, it’s got to be cut away. Everybody’s just typing in the chat. You need to cut it, you need to cut it. You need to cut away that flesh. You got to get the scales from in front of your eyes. You have to circumcise yourself by denying yourself, taking up the cross and following Jesus, Philippians three and 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. Now, if Pastor Torrance was on the stage with me right now, this is where he and I will start talking about the doctrine of justification.
This is his wheelhouse. See, because the doctrine of justification refers to God’s grace in advance of sin pronouncing the guilty guiltless before being guilty. Okay? Alright. Now I just need about 100 Bible readers right now online to just start lightening the chat up because the doctrine, the doctrine of justification says I am guilty before the foundation of the world. Okay? Remember, you don’t become guilty of sin when you sin. You were born into sin shaping iniquity. So before you took your first steps, you are already a sinner because of our progenitors, Adam and Eve. So because of them we were born into sin. You came from the womb of a sinner. You are the fruit of the loins of a sinner.
So the doctrine of justification says God’s grace advocates for me in advance of my conviction and when I am proceeding to Miranda Mirandized for my violations, when the judge sees the case, it appears to him as though I did not do what I was caught doing on camera. It is literally justification, God putting you back into the position through the blood as if you didn’t do it. Justification just as if I didn’t do it, man. So after justification is sanctification. Now I’m still talking about the Holy Ghost. This is only possible through the death of Jesus Christ and the dissension of the Holy Ghost. Now I can be sanctified with a sanctification. Sanctification is the act of making something holy that isn’t okay, so now I’m justified. Now I’m sanctified. In other words, not only am I guiltless, I’m holy, but I’m not holy because I’m perfect.
I’m made holy because God is holy sanctified. See, that’s the difference between being sanctified and talking about going to a sanctified church. Sanctified church ain’t because they can tap the tambourine that don’t make me sanctify. What makes me sanctified is that blood makes me holy. That spirit of God makes me holy even though I am not. After the resurrection of Jesus received the Holy Ghost for the purposes of sending the Holy Ghost to us, which made him the God, listen, oh man, I got to stop. This is going to get too good for me. I’m still talking about the Holy Spirit, the reason why he receives the Holy Ghost and dies and gives him to us because by distributing the Holy Ghost, listen to me, it made him the God of the living and the dead. Good God almighty, I got to get out of here because see, I’m about to get happy and y’all ain’t happy like me.
It made him the God of the living and the dead because now being sanctified, which means I am now made holy, it means that I could have died before the death of Jesus Christ, but because he is the lamb slain before the foundation of the world, what you witnessed by reading in scripture happened in Eternity’s past. So Jesus Christ didn’t die 2000 years ago eternally. He died 2000 years ago in preference so that we might understand in time that there was an Old Testament and New Testament and we realize it in time, but remember, God is eternal. So the movie we are watching, God has already seen, he’s produced it, he starred in it and he’s now on the sequel already planning for his return. What we’re learning in time, God duplicated in eternity and so now therefore is no condemnation to who are in Christ.
Well, when did I get in Christ? Did I get in Christ when I confessed with my mouth? No. I was in Christ when he was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world. So I was born to be saved and my expression of salvation accepting him is the propitiation or the act by which I receive salvation, but I was saved before I said God into my heart. I was saved. Listen, I was saved. Yeah, I got to clear it up because I know how y’all do on the internet. I was saved, but now I’m being saved.
I’ve always been saved, but now he’s saving me. You see, because that’s justification and sanctification. I’m saved before the foundation of the world and yet I’m being transformed by the renewing of my mind as I speak to you right now. So I’m saved. Listen and I’m being saved. Oh, thank you self and listen, for those of us who are still confused, pastor, what do you mean? I count not myself to have apprehended this. I haven’t arrived. The word I count, not myself means to calculate. He says, when you add it all up, I still got issues. When you add it all up, I am still in a continual growth process, but what I am good at, here it is. I’m good at not turning back. I’m good at forgetting that what is behind me. I’m good at pressing toward the mark. I need 500 pressers on here right now. I need you to press the flame and let that be a signal that you are a presser. Come on, somebody, press it right now.
I press, I pay the past no attention. I dismiss it from my mind. I press toward the mark for the prize of the upper call. I pay no attention to it. I dismiss it. And how do I do that under the power of the Holy Spirit? Because if you don’t cut away the flesh, you will pay it attention you will. You will cause yourself misery over it in the flesh. You can’t dismiss it from your mind in the flesh. You can’t see how you’re supposed to forgive somebody who did you wrong? You can’t see it in the flesh. You can’t press forward in the flesh.
That’s why I’m trying to get you into the Spirit. Do you all hear what I’m telling you? You won’t enjoy the prize of the upper call without the spirit. Sure, sure. You can make a great argument about anything you choose to believe. Sure, the agnostic can make things make sense. Sure, the atheist can make things make sense, but we’re not here to talk about what makes sense. We’re here to talk about the spirit and his ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. The Bible says, well, the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. I want you to do me a favor right now. I want you to just open up your mouth. If you are in a position to and repeat after me. I receive the Holy Ghost.
I receive the Holy Ghost. Now, you’re probably asking now where is he? What does that mean? Where is he coming from? No, no, no, no, no, no. The spirit of God to Jerusalem. He’s there. If you go to the second heaven, the first heaven, if you go to the terrestrial locations, if you go where the airplanes fly, if you go where the stars are, if you go to the lowest valley, he’s there. There is no place that the spirit of God is not. I want you to repeat after me again. I receive the Spirit. Say it again. I receive the Spirit. Say it like you mean it. I want to almost hear you through the chat. I’m looking at you online right now. I want you to tell me I receive the Spirit, I receive it. I receive it Lord and help my son receive it. Lord, help my daughter receive it. We receive the Spirit. We receive the spirit. Say it again. We receive the Spirit.
Lemme read something to you and I’m going to let you go. If you want to receive the gifts of the spirit, oh God, you’re going to have to want them for the right reason. I don’t want anybody wanting to receive the Holy Spirit so they can be a mind reader and a fortune teller and argue and make people feel small because all of a sudden you have this revelation, you got to want to receive it for the right reason. Your purpose for receiving the gifts of the Spirit should be so that you could use the gifts of the Spirit for the Lord’s purpose.
The path to receiving the Holy Spirit is to exercise faith in Christ. Listen, oh God, this is going to get me in trouble because everybody’s been asking me this and we’re actually receiving the gifts of the spirit of God. Listen to exercise, faith in Jesus. Here it is unto repentance. See, that spirit qualifies you for the atonement work of Jesus Christ. We got more work to do. See the spirit of faith, it opens doors that no man can close. You remember when Jesus went into the wilderness and he was tempted by the devil? Well, how did he survive that temptation to the spirit?
Are you listening to me? And when you receive the spirit of God, it enables you to receive from God what you need. Listen, I feel the Holy Ghost to fulfill your divine destiny. I am telling you right now that without the Holy Spirit, you will never reach your destiny. I don’t care what school you go to. I don’t care what Ted talk, you watch, I don’t care how much you study without the spirit of God, you will never find your destiny. I want you to speak right now in the Spirit and say, spirit, fall fresh on me.
God, I thank you today that I’ve been able to leave my brothers and sisters some through the valley of the shadow of death. And I want you to touch them in a mighty, magnificent strategic way that they would know the difference between emotionalism and spirituality. That somebody will catch fire in their house and before they know it, they’ll see their sons and daughters operating in the spirit of God. God let ’em know that you can do what punishment can’t do. You can do what the silent treatment cannot accomplish. You can accomplish what an argument can’t do. You can do in a home. What no other power Holy Ghost power can do. You can heal a body when a medicine can’t do the job, you can heal a soul. When a psychiatrist can’t reach deep enough, you can heal a mind when a therapist cannot reach deep enough, you are able.
And how do I know you’re able? Because I can testify that I felt you in my own soul. And so God, right now in the name of Jesus, I pray for every person under the sound of my voice, whatever way they are listening to me, that you would allow the spirit of God to fall afresh on them. Spirit of the living God, half your way in our lives and in our heart, we receive you. We’re open. You do the rest of the work. Thou ought the potter, we are the clay. Mold us and make us and shape us. Have us to be what you’re calling us to be. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen. And thank God, listen. We’re going to give right now, and I want you to give listen in the spirit. I want you to give with the spirit of expectation that today I speak the back of poverty being broken over your life.
