Pastor Keion (00:21):
That’s why we got to repent. That’s another word that we don’t use in church no more. Oh God, I hope I don’t lose y’all. I hope this ain’t too sanctified for you. I hope. I hope this ain’t too sanctified for you. And lemme tell you something, the haters will say that I ain’t never preached on repentance. They’ll say that the preachers, we don’t preach on repentance no more. That’s a lie. And the truth ain’t in us. We don’t preach about it every day, but we preach about it. When the Lord puts us on our heart, we got to repent. What is repent? Repent means to turn away from now. If you don’t have the Holy Spirit, there is nothing impressing on your heart that you need to turn away from something. So when people say, I don’t owe you an apology, it’s not that they don’t know what an apology is. They haven’t been baptized in the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is not speaking to them about the position of their heart and they’re waiting on Jesus to do it, but he’s at the right hand of the Father and he’s not speaking anymore. He wrote the book, he closed it, and now it’s empowered through the Holy Ghost.

(01:24):
Lord, help me in this place. And when I say in this place, I mean in your car, in your living room, wherever you are, help me in their place. We’ve got to repent repentance. Lord, forgive me for that. And my sincerest desire is to never do that again. It is 180 degree turning away from, turning away from As we repent, our dead inner human now become sensitive to the word of God. And there was a second work of the Holy Spirit when he baptized as a believer, and it’s in Acts two. It’s in Acts one through four and verse 39. And that is he empowers the believer to live a better and more holier life.

(02:31):
The Bible says he’s the helper. So he helps us to live a holier life. And when we live a holier life according to the mentorship of the Holy Spirit, then we can say we’re more like Jesus. Are you listening to me? Are you listening to me? The gift of the Holy Spirit is primarily for the empowerment to live a holier life and according to Acts one and eight, to witness to other people. Because if you don’t have the Holy Spirit you, you’re not thinking about witnessing to what the old church calls the backslider. You’re thinking, I need see, when we stay in Jesus and salvation and stay in religion, all we think is I got to be away from those people because the Bible says come out from among them. But if that is wholly true, then how do you ask Sir the question that if we ought to be more like Christ, he didn’t just come out from among them, then he went back amongst them and shared with them the gospel of Christ. Yes sir.

(03:53):
And who was speaking through him when he was doing that? You guessed it. The Holy Spirit. Now here is the difference. When you are saved by Jesus Christ, you’re saved. But you have to ask the Holy Spirit to feel you continuously. Man, I wish this church was full of people. See, let’s do this. Let me, because I know what’s going on right now. You going to have to write, you’re going to have to watch this one a lot. Let’s go to the Ephesians five and 18 because I didn’t come to play with nobody. Let’s go to Ephesians five and 18 and I’m going to go there with you.

(04:46):
Alright, Ephesians five and 18 and the Bible says, do not get drunk with wine in which lies debauchery, but be filled with the Holy Spirit, but be filled with the Holy Spirit. You have to be filled with the Holy Spirit and you are encouraged through the scripture to ask the Holy Spirit to fill you on a regular basis. When you feel depleted or need strength. Holy Spirit, help me see, but this is why we stay depressed. I know, I know. It is messing you up right now because we’re so trained to say, help me. Thank you Jesus. I need you, Jesus. Jesus, take the will. This is not the work of Jesus. This is the work of the Holy Ghost. Jesus ain’t taking no will. The Holy Spirit will.

(05:59):
How can somebody at the right hand of the Father who is no longer in the earth take the will, holy Spirit take the will. It is not enough to exist with the belief of the Father and the belief of the Son. You have to also have the belief of the Holy Ghost. He is a person and he is equal and in harmony with God the Father and God the Son. Yes sir. And the uniqueness of the Holy Ghost is He is the only part of the Godhead that is with us. Jesus said before He ascended to heaven that the Holy Spirit will come and dwell within us as a believer.

(07:03):
Alright, all right. I hope this is making sense to you. The Holy Spirit is our helper. I’m going to say John 16 and seven Again. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away for if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. When I think of the Holy Spirit, this is all I think of God with us helping me, empowering me to live a flourishing life that gratifies the goodness and the glory of God. I don’t know about you, but I am constantly aware of my need for God’s divine help.

(08:05):
Every day there’s a fight in me for my flesh to take control of my spirit. The spirit steps back in and helps me to realize that God is spirit and that I have to let the Spirit have his way. But lemme tell you why we struggle with the spirit, because not only does he comfort us, but he sanctifies us. Please listen. If you ain’t ever resisted turning the channel because you were uncomfortable, you got to do it today. One Corinthians six and 11 says, but you were washed. Listen. Now I love the Bible. Now I love the Bible. So don’t get me excited. I hear y’all shouting it on that other end. The Bible says, but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the spirit of God. And I don’t know how many scriptures I need to give you for you be able to fight any devil off who makes you think that the Holy Spirit is not a part of the deal.

(09:21):
You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Got it. And by the spirit of God, what does sanctify means? It means to be sacred essentially. It says that the Holy Spirit purifies us. So if you don’t have the Holy Spirit working in your life, it’s almost like, and this is a very bad example, but it’s the best one I can think of right now. It’s like having purified alkaline water versus tap water in one of our cities where the water has to be boiled before it’s drank, it’s drunk. So just imagine the water that sometime ago or may still be coming out of faucets in places like Flint and Jackson, that we must make sure that our government and our city officials in our nation and those of us as people are a part of the process in making sure that our brothers and sisters have clean water and we’ve all done our part and will continue to do so.

(10:46):
But the difference between the water that came out of a faucet when the water main breaks and that isn’t purified because of contamination seeping into the ground soil and versus purified water, is the difference between having the Holy Spirit and not without the Holy Spirit. You are water, but you are not purified and without the Holy Spirit, you are not good for consumption. Somebody ought to put amen there. Without the Holy Spirit, you’re not a good wife. Without the Holy Spirit, you’re not a good husband. Without the Holy Spirit, you won’t be a good friend. Without the Holy Spirit, you won’t be a good parent, you won’t be a good confidant. You are no good without the spirit of God because he purifies us and our sin.

(11:38):
Now this is important. This is important. The Holy Spirit is designed to help us through the process of sanctification. I want to make sure that when my team sends me the numbers on this, I don’t want them to show me that the numbers decrease because we only concerned about what Jesus can do because lemme tell you something, Jesus has already done what he’s going to do. If you don’t get this message and you miss this part of the Godhead, listen, missing 33% of the knowledge of God is missing a hundred percent of the plan that he has for your life.

(12:27):
The Holy Spirit is making us die to our old self so that we can be free from any entanglement or as the Bible says in Hebrews, any sin that death easily beset us. So the Holy Spirit is the part of the Godhead that makes you more like Christ. Jesus doesn’t make you like Him. The Holy Spirit makes you like Jesus. Two Corinthians three and 18, and we all know who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory are being transformed into his image with ever increasing glory. Here it is, which comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

(13:26):
Do you remember when Moses, I was telling our staff this today when Moses experienced the glory of God on the mountaintop, that was the spirit of God. One writer said that Moses reflected the glory of God, but you and I may radiate the glory of God. And when we meditate on God’s word and end it see God’s son, then the Spirit transforms us. We become more like the Lord Jesus Christ as we grow from glory to glory. So what’s the purpose of being a Christian? The purpose of being a Christian and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is to become more Christlike. And I’m here to tell you that the only way you can do that is through the power of the Holy Spirit.

(14:39):
Because we will focus on sanctification and the diminishment of sin. But the only way that sin is diminished and sanctification is acquired is through the ghost. So I think that that’s why the world is so mean. I said this Sunday, we as a country, we’re always saying in God we trust, yes, we trust God, but can God trust us? I guarantee you, with all of our flag waving in God, we trust bumper stickers. We got God on our money. We put our hands on the Bible and our court systems and say, so help me, God, God, God, God, God. And yet at the moment I speak this message over 170 mass shootings in our country, churches on every corner, so many Christians in the halls of Congress and in the Senate and on judiciary benches and yet murder in every city.

(16:03):
We put our hands on the Bibles, and yet our courtrooms are still full of liars. You know why no Holy Ghost? Because if the Holy Ghost was in the halls of Congress, when the Democrats and Republicans are arguing at each other, they will stop short of the name calling and the vitriol that is spewed because there is a way to disagree and still be in God. We don’t have to be in agreement to be in God, but because we don’t subscribe to God with us, we act like he ain’t with us because we don’t subscribe, speak to and think and employ the only part of God that is in the earth. We act like we live in an earth where he is not because we’re talking to the part of the Godhead that does not respond to the need that we have. Why do you think in the Book of Genesis when Noah wanted to find out where was the water still at flood stage? You know what he sent out? The Bible says he sent out a dove.

(17:36):
And when the dove returned, he knew that there was water out there still. But when the dove came back with an olive branch in his mouth, he knew the water has subsided enough that the dove could find a place to land a dove in your Bible and mind is a representation of the Holy Spirit. So Noah literally sent out the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost, the helper, brought him information back. I don’t care how you work on this thing, you can’t live a productive life just thanking Jesus for everything. You won’t have the power to tread on serpent’s heads just thanking Jesus for everything. Thank you, Jesus for the proper things. Thank you for being born. Thank you for dying. Thank you for getting up on the third day morning. Thank you for going back and sitting at the right hand of the Father and thank you for leaving the helper.

(18:43):
Thank you for all of that. Now, thank you Holy Spirit, because he walks with me and he talks with me and he tells me that I’m his own. He is the one that makes me do right when I want to do wrong. He is the one that protects my children when they’re at school. He is the one that protects the airplane in the air. He is the one that controls the traffic. He is the one that touches my body. He is the one talking about the Holy Ghost. I wish I had somebody just put in the chat. Helper, helper, helper, helper.

(19:34):
Holy Spirit. There’s something else I want to say to all of you all who are in ministry and church. You can’t do good ministry without Holy Ghost. I wish Pastor Torrance was in me right now because he’d say, Reverend, you can’t do good ministry without the Holy Ghost. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You got intellect you. But the devil’s intelligent too. What separates us between the enemy is our Holy Ghost. And there are different kinds of spiritual gifts. But let me tell you something, and I’m about to make a bold statement. There are many, many, many spiritual gifts in the house of the Lord, but all of them got one source, all kinds of services. But we serve the same Lord. Yes sir. God works in many ways. And the old church says mysterious ways, but none of it can work without the Holy Ghost.

(20:41):
The Bible says that spiritual gift is given to each one of us so we can help each other to one person. The Spirit gives the ability to give advice to another. He gives the ability to give a message or a special knowledge, a word of knowledge. The same spirit gives great faith to another person. To some he gives the gift of healing to some, he gives the gift of performing miracles to others, the gift of prophecy. I can go on and on and on, but lemme tell you, they all come from the same source. The Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost.

(21:19):
He gives some the ability to have discernment. He gives another one. The ability to speak in unknown tongues gives another one. The ability to interpret what’s being said gives another one the ability to distribute the gifts. But let me tell you, all of them come from the Holy Spirit. And here’s the thing. I can show you a thousand people and show you 10, 11, 12 different gifts. But if they got a gift and they saved, I can only show you one spirit. The Bible lets us know that in Acts chapter 13, there were two men named Paul who, Saul at the time, and a man named Barnabas. Now without getting into the minutia, they were just partners in ministry. And the Bible says that God called them to do work.

(22:34):
But here’s what the Bible says. While they were serving the Holy Spirit separated them. When you have the Holy Spirit, you automatically separate yourself from the crowd. Some of y’all keep going back to school to get a degree to separate yourself. What if you got the Holy Ghost Ghost tell you something. Have you ever been around somebody or at a concert or one person sang and you just looked at ’em? They could sing real good, but they were doing all that stuff, singing real good, running great, great, great singer, but it didn’t move you. Then somebody got out there very, very monotone. No movement in the voice, no vibrato, none of that. But it was something about they singing that could send the church upside down. You know what? It was power. You know where the power came? The Holy Ghost.

(23:37):
Every time I get up to preach, I’m in the back. I’m in the office, I’m in the car. Lord, let ’em see. None of me, but oh Lord, all of you fix the gap in between me and you, Jesus. If I’ve done anything that makes you far from me, God, please forgive me of my sins right now, draw nearer to me. You know why? Because I know that when I get up here, I pray to God, but I pray in Jesus name so that I can be filled with the Holy Ghost so that when I get up to give the proclamation of the Word of God, I am not giving it in my flesh. I am giving it under the arc of safety. It is in his secret place that I am hiding so that they will see none of me, but oh Lord of you, all of you. Or let ’em see all of what you made me to be.

(24:31):
But we live in a time, I’m about to step on your toes, where you looking at your zodiac sign in the newspaper trying to find out which moon it is, trying to find out what the orbit is and what side the sun is coming on, and how high is the water tide and what’s the latitude and longitude and the gravitational pull. And I am not making fun of all of that stuff because everything under the sun has its place. But let me tell you something, you don’t consult no newspaper when it comes to knowing what’s next in your life. You consult the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost will interpret what you read.

(25:20):
You can’t do good ministry without Holy Ghost. I wish Pastor Torrance was in me right now because he’d say, Reverend, you can’t do good ministry without the Holy Ghost. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You got intellect. God works in many ways, and the old church says mysterious ways, but none of it can work without the Holy Ghost.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Hey everybody. My name is Pastor Keon Henderson. I am the founder of an organization called Take Action. Now. People are always direct messaging me and texting me and saying, pastor, what are you doing? How can I be a part of what you’re doing? And I know everybody doesn’t want to be a part of the local church, but what if I told you I had a way for you to partner with me so that we can affect change throughout the world? Hence, take action now. A 5 0 1 C three nonprofit organization committed to advancing individual agency and social progress by protecting, strengthening and uplifting the underserved and disenfranchised throughout the world. We’re doing humanitarian things, teaching entrepreneurism, teaching home ownership and institutional equities, cultural deficits. We have our ear to the ground and we need your help to make a difference whether it is making a sizable donation to the estate of a young woman who lost her battle with cancer via the internet.

(27:14):
And we were able to make a difference there. Or whether it is in a underserved community in the Caribbean islands where the children were playing amidst rocks and glass and we came in and broke ground recently on a park so that athletes and cheerleaders and young people in that community can have a safe place to stir up the gift inside of them. Whether it is paying the utility bills in cold climates for seniors, or just helping basketball players get the proper uniforms of football players. It’s just us making a difference through financial literacy and technological and empowerment and mentoring services. This is what we do, and all I’m asking you to do is become a partner with me right now, and I want you to go visit Take action now.org. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today.
