Pastor Hammond (00:00):
Lighthouse Nation, pastor Hammond here, listen, I’m so excited because we’re in the year of wealth and wisdom and guess what? God has blessed our church and blessed the people of the church to surpass a total of over $46 million just right. You heard it right over $46 million and it’s all because of the grace of God, but guess what? There’s something that’s missing. It’s your Miracle Report. You can be a part of this. We want you to send in. The information is below. You can scan the QR code. We want to hear your Miracle report. It doesn’t matter how small the Miracle Report is. Listen, we have reports of a hundred dollars, $500, $5,000. We’ve had millions of dollar reports that have came in. Guess what? A debt cancellation, but also we’ve had Miracle Reports, how God has blessed people financially. We want to hear your report no matter how big, no matter how small, get the information, scan the QR code, send the email. Do whatever you got to do to be a part of this miraculous thing that God is doing right here at the Lighthouse Church. We’re excited. Listen, we got to get right back to this word. Our pastors taking action and we want to take action with them. Come on, let’s go.

Pastor Keion (01:32):
Hey everybody, as promised, welcome to the last month of this year. I cannot believe that we just entered into a time lapse and everything just fast forwarded to this place. Hey, it’s a blessing to wake up every morning. This is take action. I’m so glad that you are here with me. I’m going to dive right into the lesson. This is part two of the 10 Money Lessons that the Bible shows us how we can accumulate and gain wealth and I’ve talked about five things that didn’t cost you anything other than what you already owed. If you go back and look at it, you’ll be able to see it. I’m going to recap it so that way you can catch up if this is your first time being a part of this series of lessons. We talked about wealth being a responsibility and you have to be a responsible person in order to accumulate and to keep wealth and the first things that we talked about is avoiding greed.

(02:29):
We talked about reducing debt. We talked about saving money. We talked about paying your debt and then I ended with a cliffhanger of where I’m going to start off today. I believe that this lesson is so important that it’s for everybody. I don’t care what socioeconomic class you find yourself in. This lesson is for you. Matter of fact, I need everybody to type in the chat. This is for me and I need you to make sure that everybody who was on last week is on this week because this is not the time to take a break. We’re going to lay it on heavy because this is going to set you up for the future. Now, all during December, myself and my preaching staff, we’re going to make sure that all of our lessons are 25 minutes so that we can obviously play off of the 25 days to Christmas of at the time you’re watching this, you only have 20 days left until we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

(03:28):
We want you to be able to enjoy your family time, but we want you to still have an appetite for the word of God. Spend 25 minutes with us during the month of December and we’re going to talk to you about wonders and wealth and miracles and it’s going to, I promise you, it’s really going to put you in a position to be able to reteach this to your children. You want them ahead of where you are. That’s what a good parent does and so you teach them early. You got it what you’re learning late. The last words that came out of my mouth last week, pay your taxes. I literally got a tax bill in the mail a few weeks ago and I called my CFO and I said, what is this letter? She said, the IRS wants us to start paying taxes quarterly and so here is a penalty because I filed an extension and paid ’em at the end of the year.

(04:38):
We went through all this kind of stuff, needless to say, with write-offs and business expenses, we were able to consolidate and get the taxes together and the receipt that I had, I put it in a book as a bookmark because I know that if I put it in the book that I’m reading, I won’t lose it. Well, I lost it and I literally text her and I said, can you send me or email me the link so that I can give you the go ahead to pay the taxes through the QuickBooks and she said, yes, no problem. Now what am I saying in that story?

(05:16):
I owe those taxes and as long as I owe them, I’m going to pay them. There are too many people who want to be wealthy who try to look for ways to avoid paying what they owe. I’m not saying that if there are write-offs and ways you can reduce the payment, don’t take advantage of them. Take advantage of every opportunity to reduce your liability, but once you’ve gotten to the place where you’ve reached the basement of your liability, pay that. Pay that. Don’t run up a bill in the restaurant and then act like you found a hair in it so you don’t have to pay it.

(06:03):
Don’t bring dog food to the restaurant in the plastic bag and say, pay your bills. Pay your taxes. I’m going to give you a scripture. I told you last week, if you go back and watch it, I’m not going to give you hyperbole. This is not a message I’m going to throw so many scriptures at you that you can’t get mad at me. The Bible says in Matthew 22 and 21 they said unto him, Caesar then Seth, he unto them render therefore unto Caesar the things which are what Caesar and unto God the things which are of him render to Caesar, that which is Caesar’s give to God that which is God. In other words, pay your taxes. They had a tax that they had to give to Caesar in the province of Rome and when they came to God about paying taxes, God says, even though I am exempt, I got Bible even though I am exempt from the temple tax for two reasons.

(07:15):
Number one, I am the temple. Number two, I’m a rabbi and rabbis don’t have to pay temple tax. If you don’t believe me, get on your internet right now. I want you to click on Google type in rabbi trust. There is a tax tax less base investment available right now for ministers called a rabbi Trust because in the biblical days, rabbis were not, they were exempt from paying the tax and God says, even though I’m exempt, I’m paying. That’s the text that you find in the gospel when he tells Peter to go into the lake and get the fish and pull the coin out of the fish’s mouth to pay the taxes that he did not owe. All I’m saying, you don’t have to take my advice, but I’m just telling you, if you want to be wealthy, I’m telling you you have to pay your taxes.

(08:15):
Pastor, what do you mean? Okay, take the write off. If you have a meal and it’s a business expense, write it off. If you take a trip and it’s a business expense, write it off. If you have a uniform and it’s a uniform expense for a business, write it off and after you finish writing all of that off and you get that bill, you cannot say, now, first of all, I’m going to keep you out of jail. Drake said, not paying your taxes a federal crime, that’s an 8:00 AM in Charlotte. You can go look that up on your own, but I’m just telling you that you have to pay your taxes, pay your taxes, pay your taxes because God is watching if you are faithful over another man’s stuff to see if he’ll make you ruler of your own. Alright, where are my entrepreneurs? Raise your virtual hand if you’re an entrepreneur. Raise your hand if you’re a business owner, if you are an aspiring business owner. If you know God is calling you the business because I’m getting ready to say something to you.

(09:29):
Are you ready? James? Chapter five, verse four. This is for I don’t care if you have one employee or 617, the Bible says in James five and four, the wages you fail to pay the workmen. Listen, who mowed? Your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. I’m talking to entrepreneurs. Pay your employees. You do not get to have employees, help you build wealth and then you keep the wealth at their expense. If a workman has mowed your field, you must pay them. Listen to me. I know this is not popular, but I’m talking to wealthy people. You have to have morals. You can’t get paid on time and they get paid late.

(10:36):
Okay? I’m a spiritual father and I know that some of y’all call me your online pastor. This is what comes with it because I’m not just going to give you the fluff. I’m going to give you the real. If you have somebody working for you, when it gets tough, when it gets hard, you have to pay them. You cannot not rob a man or a woman who has helped to mow your field. You must have a fiduciary, judicious moral responsibility. If God is going to make you ruler over the field bo ass, then you have to pay those who tended.

(11:19):
I just hear, I hear in the spirit a lot of moaning and groaning, but I’m not talking about people who want to be able to just get furniture. I’m talking about people who want generational wealth. I’m talking about people who want to be the man in the show’s succession that if something were to happen to you, here’s what I’m speaking over your life, that if something were to happen to you that God would have to heal you because the GDP, the gross domestic product of a business, a region, an organization, a country relies on your health.

(12:00):
You and me are not talking about the same kind of money. I remember I listened to rap sometime, Jay-Z said, some of y’all on the gram putting money to your ear. That’s a disconnect. We don’t call it money over here. I’m not talking about people. I’m not talking to people who just want enough money to fit in your hand and go on Instagram and make it rain and throw it in the air. The kind of money that I’m asking God to give you, they’re going to have to weigh it because they can’t count it. I’m talking about money that you can’t receive that it has to stay in the ethos and in digital form because you can’t handle it in the cash form.

(12:51):
Are you listening to me and if God’s going to bless you on that level, somebody’s going to have to help you mow the field. You can’t make that kind of money without help and you’re going to have to make sure that you are responsible in taking care of the people who help you mow the field. Alright, Proverbs 22 and 16 gives a similar warning. He says He who oppresses the poor to make more for himself or who gives to the rich will only come to poverty. He who oppresses the poor and increases his own riches shall come to poverty.

(13:42):
Alright, here’s the next one. This one is free too. It’s about to test some of y’all up. Y’all still with me? You still with pastor? You still taking action? Alright, here’s the next one. Avoid get rich quick schemes. Stop spending $1,200 every time somebody tells you they can make you rich. Now, I know a lot of people online about to say I’m messing up their business and I also know a lot of people that if you give five, $10,000 to and you spend 16, 18 weeks with them, I know a lot of people who can help you get there. I am not talking about not investing in masterminds because I’ve done that myself at a six figure level. I’m not talking about not investing in classes and investing yourself. I’m talking about the get rich quick scheme, the pyramid scheme where if you buy $6 worth of tissue, then you’re going to make a million dollars by the end of the week and it is not true.

(14:57):
Even the ancient writers who crafted the Bible and the many books knew something that many investors targeted by fraud seems to be forgotten in this dispensation. My mama said it this way. I use a lot of big words to get to If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. It probably is. If you give me $22, it’s going to be 5 million in 18 days. No, no it’s not. No, it’s not, and if it is, it can’t be repeated because if $22 million would always consistently trustworthy to be yielding that kind of money, then all of us would give $22 and we would have the same results and be careful with people who don’t have what they promise you.

(16:04):
If a person is promising you, they can make you rich. They should already be rich, but sometimes the hustle is is people promise you they can make you rich and they become rich off of you trusting them to make you rich. Okay, Proverbs 14 and 15 says The naive belief, everything but the sensible man considers his steps. You think you can get rich quick. Proverbs 13 and 11, dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little grows it. Wealth comes little by little. You will just continuously pay your debt, pay your taxes, pay your employees avoid, get rich quick schemes, pay your tithes and you’ll look up and you’ll have it because it is developed little by little. Here’s the next lesson. I’m almost done diversify yourself. The Bible doesn’t, how should I say it? It doesn’t really dwell. I mean it hints, but it doesn’t really delve into portfolio rebalancing of the value of emerging markets and all of the things that we talk about, but in a more specific and poetic way, it suggests a careful distribution of assets.

(17:44):
Ecclesiastes 11 and two, divide your portion to seven or even to eight for you do not know what misfortunes may occur on the earth. In other words, he’s saying put your money aside so that the next time they tell us we’re in a recession, you don’t panic. They say there’s a recession every 12 to 14 years. Imagine if you saved a little bit of money every month for 14 years and then they tell us the interest rates go crazy right Now imagine you’ve saved, I’m just going to say conservatively and I don’t know these numbers off the top of my head. Just say you save $10 a day for 14 years, that’s $3,650. Multiply that by 14. What is that? 36, 37, 39, 42, 45. About 47 to $50,000. Now imagine you got $50,000 saved at $10 a day. At the end of 14 years, interest rate goes up. Now you’re saying, well, what am I going to do with the $50,000? You’re going to take advantage of the people who didn’t save and then you’re going to take your $50,000 and buy something in that disturbed market because somebody’s going to have to drop the price of something because they didn’t save.

(19:36):
It’s called leverage. $10 a day could get you over the next 14 years, could get you a house that’s on the city’s tax roll and have it refurbished and have a tenant moved in it and be giving you rent right now. Offer $10 a day. You got to diversify yourself, which leads me to the next thing. Be willing to leave a legacy. By that I mean please don’t spend everything God’s about to give you. The first instance of a biblical estate plan goes all the way back to Abraham in the book of Genesis. God told him everything that you own, he says everything you own, I will make sure that it is distributed. Proverbs 13 and 22, A good man leaves an inheritance for who? It’s children’s children.

(20:53):
I know what I’m talking about. It’s so plain and simple to you, but this is how everybody I know got to where they are and the reason why there is only a top one or top 3% is because 97% of you all are not paying attention to me right now. The 97% have tuned a deaf ear or turned it off and we will look at for the rest of our existence a top one to 3% because those are the only ones who pay attention. By the way, did you know, and this is when we were growing up, how many of y’all remember days of libraries? Did you know that they did a study and I’m not sure if it was Harvard or Yale, but one of those Ivy League schools did a study and they found out that almost 97% of the people who were in the top one to 3% had a library card.

(21:56):
Those are the people who didn’t close the book when the teacher was talking. Those are the people who won’t turn the internet off when the pastor is speaking life because it’s not exciting. This is hard work. This is depressing. This will make you look within your soul and be like, I can’t do it, but you have to challenge yourself to fight through it because the 97% that won’t do this will look at the 3% of you that will and they will ask you again, how did you do it? Alright, here’s the last one. Be generous.

(22:41):
Notice I didn’t say be a tither. Be generous. Okay, bill Gates, Warren Buffett. I can go down the list of all of the wealthy captains of industry who have pledged much of their wealth to charity while they live. I don’t understand. I don’t even know if you really know that charity is actually a strategy. People who give, do you all remember when, I don’t know if it was Bill Gates to Warren Buffett or Warren Buffett to Bill Gates, but one of them had pledged and I think it was Warren Buffett, one of them had pledged their entire wealth to the others, to nonprofit initiative for Global Medicine and I believe it was Warren Buffett to Bill Gates. I could be wrong, it may be the other way around, but one of them pledged almost all of their wealth to philanthropy. It was a big thing in the news when they asked ’em, what are you leaving the kids? One of the wealthy people said, I’m only leaving my kids $1 million a piece. The other billions I’m giving to charity and everybody all, that’s a shame you should leave your kids. How can people who have no money give advice to people who have more than them? The reason why they made a responsible decision to give to charity is because they know that God, the economy and the universe all protect that type of investment. You can reduce your tax liability based on how much you give to charity. The whole world is built to congratulate generosity.

(24:39):
The kingdom is built to Pat the generous man on the back right now, one of the best real estate transactions I ever made was I bought 10 acres of land for our church from a man who was wealthy. He owned gas stations, Hilton hotels. I’m still friends with him to this day, one of the best real estate moves I ever made was buying the property from him in exchange. Listen for a charitable contribution statement. He had so much money that he needed to spend it. I had the need for land and our mutual agreement was that I would give him $25,000 in charitable contribution and sell the land at $25,000 an acre. It was 10. You do the math. He was able to get a charitable contribution from the government by giving selling property to a nonprofit in exchange for a charitable contribution. The whole world is built for charity.

(26:16):
I want you to be generous. That’s how you handle the top lessons with the taxes and the debt. You handle it by lesson number one, by being generous. Proverbs 28 and 27 says, he who gives to the poor will never want, but he who shuts his eyes on the poor will have many curses. A little later, Proverbs asks, and he says, he who is generous will be blessed for he who gives some of his food will be poor. Go and sell all your possessions and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. This is the advice that God gave to the rich man in the book of Mark. I’m going to give you two more scriptures. Matthew six and three oh, this is my last scripture. Don’t just go issue a press release or slapping your name on plaques and trumpet. Your wealth says when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what the right is doing.

(27:36):
This is a scripture people misuse. We use that as a way of keeping a secret. Say, don’t let the left hand know what the right is doing. This is talking about not needing a lot of credit for your generosity. He says, don’t let the left know what the right is doing so that your giving will be in secret and your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. I got a message from one of my NFL partners the other day. He says, one day, I want to bless your church, but I want it to be a secret. He says, I want to do it in secret. You know why? Because he understands the principle. He understands the principle of not needing to be applauded for what you do from the heart. I believe we all have a responsibility to take care of our neighbor, and I believe that generosity in ministry, in the kingdom and towards God’s people. The Bible says what you do for the least of them, you’ve also done unto me.

(28:37):
I have just given you the 10 most important things that I know about wealth full well knowing that 97 to 98% of the people will push this right off of the table, but for those of you all who understand that I’ve just given you life, I want to welcome you to the master’s table. I want to welcome you to a life that is flowing with milk and honey. I want to welcome you to a life where the water will come out of the rock and the manna will fall from heaven and God will also give you the ideas to create wealth. We have spent this entire month trying to reconfigure and to change your mind. The Bible says if a man is going to be changed, it has to be by the renewing of his mind. I pray that there’s a renewing of your mind as it relates to money that you will not be afraid, that you will not be scared, that you will not believe it’s for everybody else and not for you, and that as a kingdom citizen that you have to be a popper. No, God says, I would that you may have life and have it more abundantly and I pray that God will bless you with not just the money to give, but the money to buy whatever you want.

(29:47):
I pray that this will be for your children and your children’s children. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen. It’s giving time right now. I want to know if you’ll just respond to what we’ve talked about over the last two lessons, 25 minutes a piece, 50 minutes combined, less than an hour to change your life and to change the way you think. They’re going to put giving instructions up on the screen right now. I’m going to leave it right where it is because if after teaching you, I still have to coerce you, then I’ve wasted the lesson. I want the seed of God to begin to raise the bar of your expectations and I pray that you will be wealthy for years to come. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. I love you. I’ll see you next week.

(30:46):
Hey everybody. My name is Pastor Keon Henderson. I am the founder of an organization called Take Action. Now. People are always direct messaging me and texting me and saying, pastor, what are you doing? How can I be a part of what you’re doing? And I know everybody doesn’t want to be a part of the local church, but what if I told you I had a way for you to partner with me so that we can affect change throughout the world? Hence, take action now. A 5 0 1 C3 nonprofit organization committed to advancing individual agency and social progress by protecting, strengthening and uplifting the underserved and disenfranchised throughout the world. We’re doing humanitarian things, teaching entrepreneurism, teaching home ownership and institutional inequities, cultural deficits. We have our ear to the ground and we need your help to make a difference whether it is making a sizable donation to the estate of a young woman who lost her battle with cancer via the internet and we were able to make a difference there or whether it is in a underserved community in the Caribbean islands where the children were playing amidst rocks and glass and we came in and broke ground recently on the park so that athletes and cheerleaders and young people in that community can have a safe place to stir up the gift inside of them.

(32:11):
Whether it is paying the utility bills in cold climates for seniors or just helping basketball players get the proper uniforms of football players. It’s just us making a difference through financial literacy and technological empowerment and mentoring services. This is what we do, and all I’m asking you to do is become a partner with me right now and I want you to go visit Take action now.org. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today.
